About St. David’s
Mission Statement
To Know God and Share Jesus Christ
Vision Statement
We envision St. David’s as a growing community living in response to God’s grace and love extended to us through His Son, Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, and called:
- to seek God’s will in all that we do.
- to worship God as a Eucharistic community, grounded in the Bible, using the Book of Common Prayer, and enriching our liturgy with a variety of styles.
- to nurture one another in all stages of life through prayer, healing, ministry, education and study, pastoral care and action, and fellowship and program.
- to model Christian community as an expression of faith.
- to move out and into the community to serve, sharing the gifts God has given to us.
- to invite others to faith in Jesus Christ as Lord, bearing witness to God’s love for all and sharing experiences of God’s work in our lives.
We envision a Church that is connected to the Diocese and wider Communion; where persons learn the ways of God and are encouraged to make them central to their lives; and see St. David’s as a place where visions and ideas of ministry are not only dreamed, but come to life.

What is Episcopal?
Episcopalians celebrate the sovereignty of God and the reality of Christ who is revealed in love. We believe Christ to be a man who not only lived long ago, but also is a living presence now among those who seek to serve, forgive, heal and reconcile. We read of Jesus in scripture; we learn of Him through study and prayer; we respond to the proclamation of His word and sing His praise. And most of all, we know Him through the breaking of bread in the Eucharist and by sharing Holy Communion.
Other Church information and History
St. David’s Episcopal Church was founded in 1953 at 63rd and Judson Street. The congregation outgrew that facility and moved to an existing building in our current location at 8800 Holdrege in 1992. After extensive remodeling of the facility, the church suffered a severe fire on Easter Sunday in 1999. The present facility literally “rose from the ashes,” as the congregation chose to remain and rebuild. In 2001, we celebrated the opening of our present church facility. Our church is currently one of more than 7,500 parishes of The Episcopal Church, USA.
Our expansion and renovation project now complete, we have expanded the size of our worship space, added new classrooms, and expanded our nursery area. Work is almost complete on a new columbarium and meditative garden.
