The adult class finished watching the Sacred Music series on the history of church music, and will resume meeting in September.
St. David's Vacation Bible School will take place August 4-6, beginning each day with a light supper at 5:45 pm, and finishing at 8:15. Watch this space for more information in the coming weeks.
Opportunities for youth abound in our church. St. David's participates with the other Episcopal Churches in Lincoln, forming a strong Episcopal Youth Community (EYC). We also encourage our youth to participate in Diocesan sponsored events. Youth from St. David’s recently returned home from their mission trip to the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota.
EYC meets regularly during the school year, Wednesday evenings from 6 - 8 pm, beginning with dinner and fellowship. Meetings rotate quarterly between churches. This program is divided into three groups: Rite-13 for 6th - 8th graders, J2A (Journey into Adulthood) for 9th and 10th graders, and YAC (Young Adults in Church) for 11th and 12th graders. Each group also participates in recreational activities and service work. Yearly diocesan programs include mission trips, summer camp, Happening (based on Cursillo), and Rallies. Every third year there is also an Episcopal Youth Event. The Congregation as Choir program (an opportunity for singing, learning new music, rehearsing worship music, and learning vocal technique) will resume in September.
